The Carina has been awarded with the classifications of “Swiss Lodge” and “Design & Lifestyle”

“Anything but ordinary”. This is how Hotelleriesuisse describes their portfolio of Design & Lifestyle hotels. This classification is awarded exclusively to hotels that “showcase innovative architecture, visionary interior decor and the skillful integration of design, art and culture”. Furthermore, such hotels need to cultivate a set of values that cover every aspect – from accommodations to gastronomy and from leisure to business. Always functional, the design is supposed to dictate the way in which shapes, materials, colours, light and space are used.

While most Design & Lifestyle hotels are rated four or five stars, the Carina offers a refined experience rooted in simplicity. For this reason, the Carina has also been awarded the Swiss Lodge classification. The latter stands for hotels that overlooks certain amenities in order to privilege access to the greatest number of people.

Whit this unique combination of classifications, the Carina shows that it is possible for a Design & Lifestyle hotel to also be simple like a Swiss Lodge. It’s luxury – redefined: high-quality products take centerstage, and authenticity prevails over the superflous.

As the only hotel in Zermatt with this unique double classification, the Hotel Carina is officially “a special place to stay”.
